Brain Awareness Week
March 16 - March 22
Brain Awareness Week (often abbreviated as BAW) is an annual global campaign dedicated to increasing public enthusiasm and support for brain science, neuroscience research, and understanding the brain.
It is organized primarily by the Dana Foundation (a legacy initiative), in partnership with organizations like the Society for Neuroscience (SfN), the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS), and others worldwide. The campaign highlights the wonders of the brain, the progress in brain research, and its real-world impacts—such as advancing treatments and prevention for conditions like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, depression, schizophrenia, traumatic brain injuries, and more.
